Here to Lift You Up
Hi! I'm Joy, the founder of HOPE.
For as long as I can remember, I have been the person everyone calls when something with technology is not working. Growing up surrounded by Baby Boomers, I spent countless hours helping my mom, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends with everything from setting up new phones and printers to figuring out why the TV "stopped working" or how to send a picture.
At first, I didn't think much of it—it was just something I genuinely enjoyed doing. Over time, I realized that what people truly needed wasn't someone with all the answers—it was someone who would patiently listen, never make them feel embarrassed for asking questions, and genuinely care about helping.
As I got older, my passion for helping others with technology continued to grow. I volunteered at retirement communities, where I taught technology classes and worked one-on-one with residents. At work, I became the person coworkers turned to when they needed help with their laptops or software. Before long, it wasn't just my own family asking for help. Friends started reaching out to ask if I could help their parents and grandparents, and I happily said yes every time.
Through each of these experiences, I realized that what I loved most wasn't fixing technology—it was helping people rediscover their confidence. Watching someone go from feeling frustrated and overwhelmed to confidently FaceTiming their grandchildren, sharing photos with loved ones, or simply using their devices without fear has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
All of these experiences are what inspired me to create HOPE.
I want to build something that feels less like "tech support" and more like having a trusted friend you can call whenever technology gets confusing!
